The Rapid Prototyping is about a small, but for Industrial Designers, very important category of manufacturing techniques namely the additive manufacturing techniques. Rapid Prototyping is sometimes also called 3D printing.
The faculty had a materials and manufacturing processes database called CES Edupack. I can help you with manufacturing processes choices and/or material choices. Contact me if needed.
The database contains approximately 3000 materials and approximately 100 manufacturing processes.
A spreadsheet how to calculate the cost of manufacturing a part can be found here.
